Come and enjoy German music and authentic German food as well as other local entertainment and children’s games at the 25th Annual Oktoberfest.  Held at Columbus Acres, off of Highway 71 at Brooken Hill Drive … 10203 Columbus Acres Road, Fort Smith, AR 72916.
 
There is no admission fee. Donations will be accepted at the gate for the Kistler Center. Hours of the festival will be 5:00-11 p.m. on Friday, October 8 and noon-11 p.m. on Saturday, October 9.
 
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND … AlpenMusikanten will be providing music for the 2010 Oktoberfest. This band is the premier band at the annual Helen, GA week-long Oktoberfest. AlpenMusikanten is a group of musicians made up of two German-Americans, Alan, and Clay; two Austrians, Manfred, and Wolfgang: and a Norwegian-American, Gordon; combine their talents and humor to create a memorable experience for the whole family. Their lively and colorful show combines German Biergarten favorites, folk instruments, group participation, singing, great yodeling and a wide variety of festive music. The ALPENMUSIKANTEN makes everybody happy!
 
In addition to music from AlpenMusikanten (Friday, Oct. 8 from 7-11 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9 from 3-5 p.m. AND 7-11 p.m.) Various Vendors, authentic German delicacies, Vietnamese Food Items, Irish Dancers, Cloggers and the Biergarten! There will be a raffle for an assortment of cool items. FIRST EVER Weenie Dog Costume Contest! If you have a weenie dog or a weenie dog wanna be, dress them up for the Oktoberfest Costume Contest on Sat. Oct. 9 from 1-3 p.m. Prizes for top 3 costumes!
 
The Gregory Kistler Center For Children, Inc. has been providing occupational, physical and speech-language therapy to children since 1978. Currently, the Kistler Center serves 600 patients who come for treatment from 10 counties in Arkansas and 7 counties in Oklahoma, always with the policy that no child is turned away due to the financial circumstances of his or her family.
