Dale joins Talk Business & Politics as Fort Smith metro reporter

Veteran newspaper and television journalist Tina Alvey Dale has joined Talk Business & Politics as the Fort Smith metro reporter. She succeeds Aric Mitchell who joined the Fort Smith Police Department as its public information officer.

Dale has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and bachelor degrees in journalism & English from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

She has more than 23 years experience working in the news industry in Fort Smith, including 21 years with the Times Record, covering almost every beat, including courts, education and medical and agricultural business. She also worked as a news producer for a regional television station. She has earned awards in news and feature writing. The last 16 years of her tenure at the paper were as the features editor and an award-winning columnist.

Dale said she is glad to be back in the news business.

“When I walked away from journalism two years ago, I felt like I was turning my back on who I was. When I was offered the chance to come back, I jumped at it. Being a reporter is just who I am; it’s in my blood. I am so excited to be back doing what I love, keeping our area residents informed of the news,” Dale said.
