The nonprofit National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) is in the process of establishing a chapter in Northwest Arkansas.

A kickoff event is planned for 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Bentonville. Cynthia Rodriguez, chapter growth manager for California-based NAHREP, said the Northwest Arkansas chapter is in the developmental stage, and the purpose of the kickoff event is to introduce the chapter to the market.

“Ideally, we’ll have a local, present and active chapter [in Northwest Arkansas] by the end of the year,” Rodriguez said.

NAHREP has 68 chapters and more than 30,000 members in the U.S. Its mission is sustainable homeownership among Latinos by educating and empowering the real estate professionals who serve them.

California-based Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG) is a corporate partner of NAHREP and is sponsoring the Bentonville kickoff event. Sherry Sherrell, branch manager for PRMG’s office in Rogers, said the company funds nearly 60% of its loans in the Hispanic market.

“Our team plans to be extremely active within this new local chapter,” Sherrell said
