Denise Incandela, CEO of Aerosoles, has been hired as senior vice president of fashion by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. effective Oct. 2. She will lead the fashion businesses for Walmart.com, Jet.com, and Shoes.com and will report to Walmart’s chief revenue officer Scott Hilton.

Incandela has run Aerosoles, a shoe retailer, since April and also serves on the company’s board of directors. Aerosoles recently filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced the closing of most of its U.S. stores, holding on to flagship locations in New York and New Jersey.

Incandela’s retail experience runs deep, having also served as president for Ralph Lauren’s global digital division as well as chief marketing officer for Saks Fifth Avenue before joining Aerosoles.

Walmart U.S. online CEO Marc Lore has previously said the retailer is looking to bring on top retail talent to help coordinate key online categories and expand the retailer’s client base far beyond Wal-Mart’s core shopper.
