Financial services giant Little Rock-based Stephens Inc. announced a multi-year sponsorship of PGA golfer David Lingmerth on Wednesday (Sept. 6). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the partnership, Lingmerth will serve as a brand ambassador for Stephens and the Stephens logo will be featured on Lingmerth’s golf shirts and outerwear during competition. He will also participate in select corporate events, as well as Stephens’ advertising and social media when appropriate.

Lingmerth was born in Sweden and played golf at the University of Arkansas, where he was a two time All-American. He turned pro in 2010 and joined the PGA tour in 2013. Lingmerth won his first PGA tournament at the 2015 Memorial Tournament.

In addition, he is a member of the European Tour, in which he has made 25 appearances. He represented Sweden in the 2016 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

“Stephens Inc. and my family have a long history with and appreciation for the game of golf,” said Warren Stephens, President and CEO of Stephens Inc. “I truly believe that golf teaches important life lessons to all those who play and try to translate lessons that I have learned on the course to my everyday life and business. Therefore, I am thrilled to begin our partnership with David. He shares with Stephens a love of family and a deep commitment to our home state, Arkansas, which he regularly visits. Since going pro in 2010, David has proven to be a steady contender and I look forward to being a part of his continued success.”

“I am honored, and also very excited, to have partnered with Stephens as their global brand ambassador. Stephens is everything I look for in a new sponsor as we share many goals and values, on and off the golf course. Golf is a game of integrity and trust, key components to Stephens’ business philosophy. I’m thrilled to be part of the team and look forward to a long and successful relationship,” said Lingmerth.
