Several Arkansas companies are among the 2017 American Advertising Awards district honorees for the American Advertising Federation’s 10th District, covering parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

The district honorees will move up the rung to compete nationally, and winners will be announced at the American Advertising Awards on June 10 in New Orleans.

In the central Arkansas region, Cranford Co. received a gold award and three silver awards for its work with the rescue effort, CARE for Animals, with projects that include the “Paws on the Runway” campaign.

The agency also received two silver awards and six bronze for its work with Twitter on various campaigns — including one featuring Twitter’s Moment Maker feature — and one silver and two bronze awards for its work with Williamson Insurance.

Cranford Co. earned bronze awards for the Jim Johnson Southwest Hall of Fame, the Heifer International “Drama Llama” campaign, a Happy New Year GIF for Wright Lindsey Jennings, the Susan G. Komen Arkansas’ “Share What You Picture” campaign and also Cranford Co’s work with the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

Also in central Arkansas, the Few agency received a bronze award for the Made by Few 2016 conference website.

In Northeast Arkansas, graphic designer Jason Byron Nelson took a second-place award for advertising work with Flying Tiger Brewery, and NMY took silver for the Total E-Service website.

Arkansas State University received a bronze award for creating the A-State Digital Viewbook for ASU recruitment, and NMY received a bronze award for its work on the Chennault Museum website.

Bronze awards also went to two Fort Smith club members: 5 Star Productions received an award for a brand video for First National Bank, and Sway Consulting was acknowledged for its work promoting 3-D terminal installation ad for Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA).

“Our work was judged against the biggest and best agencies in Dallas, Houston, Austin, Oklahoma City and Tulsa,” Jay Cranford, chief creative officer for Cranford Co., said in a press release. “This just proves it doesn’t take a lot of people to do great work. The right group of smart people can take on any challenge and succeed.”

“We’re not afraid to put our work up against any agency in the country,” Cranford said.

The American Advertising Awards, previously known as the ADDYs, is the advertising industry’s largest competition, receiving a total of about 40,000 entries annually for local ad competitions, according to its website.
