Zelda Mae Gilbreath
Zelda Mae Gilbreath of Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on August 20, 1942, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Alva Ray Lovelace and Minnie Ann (Keith) Lovelace. She was 83 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa Davenport; five brothers; and one sister.
For several years, Zelda worked at the Pants Factory and Shoe Plant in Paris. She was also a caregiver and member of Shepherd’s Chapel Church in Gravette. Zelda was a giving person and when she was able, she contributed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and the Boy’s Ranch. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23rd at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gene Gilbreath; three daughters, Rhonda Bornmann and husband David of Paris, Tina Creek and husband Jeff of Etna, and Sherry King and husband Richard of Caulksville; a sister, Rose Pfeiffer of Paris; four grandsons, Brian Davenport, Chris Davenport, Aaron Mantooth, and Kyle Milam; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Brian Davenport, Chris Davenport, Aaron Mantooth, Kyle Milam, Whitlee Milam, and Kinley Mantooth.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Pfeiffer, Brayden Davenport, and Glenn Gilbreath.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
