Vexter Fenoy Luther, who resided near Charleston, Arkansas, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 20, 1927, in Magazine, Arkansas, to the late Elmer James Luther and Tommie Rae (Ladd) Luther. He was 98 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen Luther; a sister, Mae Fern; and a great-grandson, Infant Jay Collin Wells.

For over 25 years, Vexter worked for Mead Containers in Fort Smith and served as president of Local Union 986. He was a cattle farmer, served as past treasurer and member of Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church.

A private graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10th at Tate Cemetery followed by a “Celebration of Life” service at 11:30 a.m. at Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Buddy Corbell officiating. All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Bessie (French) Luther; three daughters, twin-daughters, Carla Wells and husband Jamie of Paris and Darla Epps and husband Tim of Fort Smith and Susie King and husband Cecil of Charleston; (9) grandchildren; (16) great-grandchildren; (2) great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
