Matthew Samuel Stephens

Matthew Samuel Stephens, 49, of Fort Smith passed away on Friday November 28, 2025 in Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born October 7, 1976 in Fort Smith to Bobby and Beth (Carolan) Stephens. Matthew was a Restorative Justice Facilitator for Returning Home in Fayetteville, a former employee of Harbor House in Fort Smith, a Board member of the Oasis of Northwest Arkansas, a volunteer with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office at the Sebastian County Jail and active in several churches in the area including St. John’s Episcopal Church, Community Bible Church and Life Church.

He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Beth Stephens of Fort Smith; one brother, Travis Stephens (Kelli) of Broken Arrow, OK; four nieces, Kaitlin Stephens (Carolyn) of Bogotá, Columbia, Kalli Stephens of Miami, FL, Kennedy Stephens of Washington D.C. and Kamryn Stephens of Columbia, MO.

Memorial service will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 13, 2025 at Community Bible Church 9201 Dallas Street Fort Smith, AR 72903 under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
