Martha Jean Terry
Martha Jean Terry, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by love.
She was born on March 18, 1940, in Afton, Oklahoma, to the late Henry and Lela (Johnson) Floyd. Martha was of the Baptist faith and lived her life guided by strong values, kindness, and a deep love for family.
To so many who loved her most, she was affectionately called “Granny” or “Aunt Jeannie.”
No matter the name, she was cherished for her warmth, humor, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Martha was truly a social butterfly. She never met a stranger and found joy in simple pleasures—especially bowling, laughter, and spending time with those she loved most. Her greatest pride and happiness came from her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Terry; a daughter, Denise Franklin; a son, Mark Terry; a grandson, Cody Jack Franklin; and seven beloved siblings.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Leslie Robinson and husband Jerad of Van Buren; Jake Terry and wife Sarah of Yanush, Oklahoma; Katelyn Niemann and husband Kyle of Cecil, Arkansas; and Casey Franklin of Rudy. She also leaves behind a brother, Don Floyd and wife Toni of Vinita, Oklahoma; thirteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous source of joy in her life.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Ocker Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Jake Terry, Jerad Robinson, Levi Wilson, Drake Wilson, Mike Neely, and Kyle Niemann.
Honorary pallbearers will be Easton Coleman and Jaxson Merryman.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Ocker Memorial Chapel, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.
