Jeweldean Treece, 88, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025.

Born on August 3, 1937, in Chimes, Arkansas, Jeweldean later attended school in Leslie. On July 13, 1957, she married her loving husband, Neill, of 68 years, beginning a life defined by faith, family, and steady commitment.

She was a teacher in West Memphis, Fort Smith, and the surrounding area before dedicating herself fully to her home and family. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, she lived quietly but purposefully, known for her kindness, gentleness, patience, and steadfast devotion to those she loved.

Jeweldean is survived by her children Kevin Treece (Sharon) and Kim Hale (Kevin); her loving sister Brenda West, who stayed by her side throughout her illness; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Lavonne Newton, her brother Eugene West, and her grandson Kameron Hale.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her caregivers for their compassion and dedication during her final months, including Melissa Doughty, Dana Maestri, Vanessa McKenna, and Susan Waterbury.

Mom, Jellybean, and Grandma Treece — thank you for 88 years of love, wisdom, and inspiration. Your legacy will continue to guide us for generations to come.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, located at 1400 Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901, on December 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Jeweldean Treece’s final resting place will be Steep Hill Cemetery in Fort Smith.
