Bentonville-based cybersecurity startup Bastazo and New York-based cybersecurity company Salvador Technologies recently launched new cybersecurity technology as part of a federal initiative to support industrial research and development of mutual benefit to Israel and the United States.

The collaboration between Bastazo and Salvador Technologies was supported in part by a $1.1 million grant from the Israel-United States Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation. Bastazo offers artificial intelligence (AI)-powered vulnerability management, and Salvador Technologies has an automated backup and instant recovery system.

The new technology, Bastazo Rapid Recovery, is expected to protect industrial control systems. According to a news release, the technology focuses on the 5% of vulnerabilities most likely to be exploited, provides the most efficient remediation strategy, and supports standard patch and mitigation workflows.

Operators can test security patches “in an isolated environment before deployment” to cut downtime in operational technology and industrial control systems, the release shows. During a cyberattack or system failure, automated backups allow for systems recovery within 1 minute. The technology is designed to integrate into existing operational technology and industrial control systems.

“Critical infrastructure operators face increasing cyber threats, and their systems can’t afford extended downtime,” said Philip Huff, co-founder and chief scientist of Bastazo. “This joint solution delivers both proactive risk reduction and rapid recovery capabilities, designed specifically for the reliability and productivity constraints of industrial environments.”

The technology is available to organizations in the energy, water, manufacturing and other industrial sectors through Bastazo in the United States and through Salvador Technologies internationally.

“By combining Bastazo’s AI and vulnerability management with Salvador Tech’s solution, we’re delivering an end-to-end approach to OT and ICS security,” said Oleg Vusiker, co-founder and chief technology officer at Salvador Technologies. “Operators can identify threats, protect, and back up their systems for immediate recovery without compromising operational continuity.”

Bastazo has 10 employees, including six in Northwest Arkansas.
