Addie Sue Carter
Addie Sue Carter, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2025. She was born October 31, 1938 to Glen and Josephine Allen. Originally from Boles, Arkansas, Sue married Bob Carter of Cedar Creek on June 9, 1956. Shortly after, they moved to Fort Smith. When Bob retired, the Carter’s moved to Greenwood for the remainder of their lives.
Sue enjoyed many roles throughout her life: wife, mom, homemaker, and friend. She especially loved being a “Granny” to Aaron, Carter, and Catherine. Sue loved cooking for her family, hosting them for holidays, and taking care of her grandchildren. She never ran out of stories to share or love to give.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Bob (1936-2012) and a brother, Albert Francis (1936-1936). She is survived by her son, Glen Dewayne Carter of Greenwood; her daughter, Belinda Kay Eakin of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Aaron Carter and Carter and Catherine Eakin; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Olivia Carter. All will miss her very much.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 30 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Cedar Creek Cemetery near Parks, Arkansas. Viewing and visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. To share a memory or leave a message for the family, please visit www.mcconnellfh.com.
