Sharon Kaye Emery

Sharon Kaye (Scantling) Emery, 81, of Hartford, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025 in a local hospital. Kaye was born June 23, 1944 to Lige and Bettie Scantling and raised in Sugar Grove and Mansfield. She was the oldest of Lige and Bettie’s eight children. She was a homemaker and the widow of Leon Emery.

Kaye and Leon married in 1961. They built a good life together, working side by side throughout their lives. They provided a loving home for their two children, Leonard and Suzi.

Kaye was feisty and funny and definitely had her own opinions and didn’t mind sharing them. Although she had limited eyesight, Kaye enjoyed couponing and refunding.

She is survived by her son, Leonard Emery of Hartford; daughter, Suzi McClain of Jenny Lind; her grandchildren, Dustin Emery, Ashley Emery (Kaisha), Jesse Emery and Bryan McClain (Bethany) all of Fort Smith, Jordan Gray of Jenny Lind, Kaden Holmes of Bentonville, Bridget Douglas of Hackett and Stacey Pickle (Josh) of Greenwood; her great grandchildren, Gage, Noah, Allison, Madlee, Kade, Cooper, Maddix, Emersyn, Bazeleigh, Hudson, Bexlee and Amelia Emery, Robin Gray, Kylea Pickle. Kadence Douglas and, Lincoln, Kennedy and Oliver McClain; two sisters, Faye James of Hartford and Lillie Scantling of Mansfield; a brother, Larry Scantling of Hartford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 19 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
