Dub Helms

Dub Helms, age 82, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at Heart of Hospice on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on February 8, 1943, in Fort Smith, he was the son of Mary Thomas and Dove Helms.

Dub proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, an accomplishment he carried with great pride throughout his life. After his military service, he built a dedicated career with Trane, from which he later retired.

Dub will be remembered for his strong sense of duty and his pride in having served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by two children: his stepdaughter, Crystal McDaniel, and his stepson, Phillip Spears and wife Stacie Spears. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Thomas, and his father, Dove Helms.

Dub will be laid to rest at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
