Carol “CJ” Striplin

Carol “C.J.” Striplin, 70, of Van Buren, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1955, in El Paso, TX to the late Doyle Massongill and Betty Hoffer Massongill. C.J. was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. C.J. was a member of the Old Fort Gun Club, she was an expert shooter and won many competitions. C.J. was a loving mother, she made quilts for many family members. She was of the Christian Faith.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Striplin, of the home; Her daughter, Ramie Owens and her husband Jen, of Muldrow, OK, and her son, Matthew Poole and his wife Leah, of Fort Smith. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Bailee Robertson and her husband Michael, Jackson Poole, Evan Poole, Dante Poole, and one great grandchild, Violet Bullock.

There will be a private family graveside service at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
