Bernardo “Bejayy” Ramon Martinez Jr., age 27, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith. Born on June 9, 1998, in Fort Smith, he was a beloved son of Bernardo Martinez and Rebecca Joy (Bluebird) Ortiz. Bejayy lived life unapologetically and authentically as himself. He knew his crowd, yet he also knew when not to cross the line. Known for his blunt honesty and straightforward nature, he led with a big heart. Fearless, humble, and deeply family-oriented, Bejayy found joy in spending time with his children, nieces, and nephews.

He was proud of his Mexican and Cherokee Native American heritage and embraced it with love and respect. Bejayy enjoyed playing basketball, video games, talking to “Bob”, spending time outdoors, fishing, and camping. He shared a special bond with his dog, Roxy, and cherished the company of his close friends—known together as Dope House Familia. His humor was infectious, often jokingly mispronouncing his favorite dish, arroz, and teasing about his funny habits, like always taking his shirt off and showering after going #2 in the restroom. Above all, Bejayy will be remembered as the protector of his family—strong, loyal, and full of love.

Bejayy is survived by his father, Bernardo Martinez, and wife Lupe; his mother, Rebecca Ortiz; his beloved fiancée, Elvia; four children—Sophia, Jose, Bernardo Jr., and Sofia—with one on the way; his grandparents, Ma Chabela and Bernie; his cherished siblings, Alvin, Erica, Eric, Hector, Andrew, Miguel, Maria, Ricky, Sylvia, Gaby, Augustin “Jefe”, Jas, Marce, and Chon; and numerous nieces and nephews, including those he held especially close—Selina, Ariana, Bubba, Lei Lei, Leo “Chili Bean,” Sabe, Sami, Briella, Amanna, and one on the way. He also leaves behind many dear friends, including Erick, Carlos, and Cris.

He was preceded in death by his grandma Nancy; his brother, Gerardo; an aunt, three uncles, and two of his best friends, Sosa and “Monkey.”

An open viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and Visitation until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church, with burial to follow at Oak Cemetery. Father John Antony will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bejayy’s brothers, with honorary pallbearers Javier, Martin, Machin, and Carlos. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
