With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mildred Amelia Furstenberg of Paris, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the beautiful age of 100. She was born on July 30, 1925, in Prairie View, Arkansas, to the late August F. and Katy (Hatwig) Werner. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, J.B. Phillips; three sisters, Tillie Forst, Helen Kremers, and Stella Bender; and the love of her life, Leo Furstenberg.

Mildred was a beautiful kind soul whose warm wisdom, sweet smile, and unwavering love touched everyone she met. Mildred worked many years for Dr. Kennon and Dr. Spivey as their office and dental assistant. Later, she and Leo enjoyed life traveling around the United State in their motor home. They also loved to camp, fish, and visit with all their good friends.

Rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 29th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her son, Luke Phillips, his friend, Dickie Sue Walker; two granddaughters, Deanna Renee Phillips and Anita Rose Phillips; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Phillips and Sheridan Phillips.

Pallbearers are Shane Vickers, Ashton Luningham, Ralph Reed, Tim Peterson, Gerald Forst, and Bernie Kremers.

The family of Mildred Furstenberg would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all the wonderful Home Care staff and Greenhurst staff for all the love and wonderful care that was given to Mildred. She loved all of you dearly.
