Carol Louisa Caplinger

Carol Louisa Caplinger of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on September 4, 1946, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Martin Klindworth and Mary Louise (Rogers) Klindworth. She was 79 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rose Mary.

Carol had a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master’s Degree. She was a school counselor for Magazine and Lavaca School Districts. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Rick Flanagan of Charleston; her sons, Eric Caplinger and wife Amy of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Wade Caplinger of Lisbon Falls, Maine; two brothers, Martin Klindworth of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Fant Klindworth and wife Jackie of Memphis, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Stone Caplinger, Olivia Caplinger, Mae Caplinger and Vel Caplinger.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
