Sammy Lee Brewer

Sammy Lee Brewer, 75, of Van Buren passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025. He was a retired forklift driver from Hickory Springs in Fort Smith and a former member of the Arkansas National Guard. He was of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah, his parents Elige and Mattie (Carrol) Brewer; sisters Zona Foster, Ruthy Rackley, Mattie Jenkins, Pat Williams; brothers Robert Brewer Grimes, Richard Brewer Grimes and Sonny Swafford.

Funeral services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Vest Cemetery north of Charleston in Franklin County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by one son Phillip Brewer of Oklahoma; one daughter Mary Stephens of Van Buren; two sisters Mary Lincks of Central City and Brenda Moore of Fort Smith; three grandchildren; thirteen nieces; eleven nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.

Family will visit with family and friends Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Carlene Biggs, Karen Rackley, Chuck Wallace, Terry Wallace, Mary Jo Moss and Melton Young.
