Ronald Dean Martin, II, of Chester, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 9, 1968, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Ronald Dean Martin and Rosella Barnes. He was 56 years old.

Ron was a 1987 graduate of Cedarville High School. He was an avid outdoorsman, an athlete, a son, father, uncle, and grandfather. Ron was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his grandkid’s ball games, and cheering for the Arkansas Razorback football team. He was loved by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.

He is survived by his son, Weston Martin and wife Christian; his mother, Rosella VanderLyke and husband Lenard; his father, Ronald Dean Martin and wife Janice; his sister, Rebecca Borden and husband Brian; his brother, Justin Martin and wife Rebecca; two half-brothers, Matt VanderLyke and wife Kattie and John VanderLyke ;a nephew, Jordan Spear; a niece, Sabra Spear and husband Cale; his grandchildren, Kenlee, Rhett, Charlotte, and Ava; and his great-nephews, Bodhi and Kohen Kuykendall.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Violet Barnes and Vernon and Bernice Thornburg; two cousins, Kevin Lovejoy and Shannon Payton; two uncles, Dale Trentham and Cecil Payton; and a close friend, Gary Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Payton, Joey Payton, Kelly Payton, Rodney Dye, Brian Borden, Bobby Lovejoy, Michael Lovejoy, Jordan Spear, David Payton, Chad Barnes, Travis Barnes, and William Trentham.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask to have donations made to the American Cancer Society.

Cremation arrangements and services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
