John Wayne Scribner, age 63, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on September 11, 2025.

John was born on May 21, 1962, in Dover, Arkansas, to the late Marshall Scribner and Ellen Louise Rickett. He grew up in Arkansas and attended high school before building a life centered on family and laughter.

Recently, on September 3, 2025, John married his beloved wife, Charlotte Reed. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who deeply adored his family.

John will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky, goofy, and kindhearted man. He had a gift for making others laugh, always ready with a joke or a smile. His love of fishing, hunting, and watching westerns reflected his down-to-earth spirit and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Reed; three children, David Reed and wife Sierra, Lalo Honea and husband Johnny, Ayla Moon and husband Gage, and David Sallee and wife Stephanie; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen Rickett and Marshall Scribner; and siblings, David Scribner, Donnie Scribner, and Betty Scribner.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date, and cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
