Zow Walkup

Zow Walkup, 89, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at her home. She was born March 8, 1936 in Spiro to the late Manuel and Flora (Newton) Melton. She had worked for Hill Company in Fort Smith, and was a member of Catcher Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin-sister, Chloe Watts; another sister, Wanda Melton; and a nephew, Terry Watts.

She is survived by her nieces, Gwen Hunter and Melissa Watts, both of Fort Smith; a nephew, John Wayne Watts and wife Holly of Tallahassee, FL; a great-niece, Brianna Watts of Edmond, OK; four great-nephews, Jeremy Watts and Jared Watts, both of Tallahassee, John Michael Watts of Van Buren, and Jacob Hunter and wife Lily of Edmond, OK; a great-great-niece, Oakley Hunter; and two great-great-nephews, McCoy and Hawkins Hunter.

A family-hosted memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Catcher Freewill Baptist Church. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. Ashes will be placed at Gill Cemetery.
