Billy George Counts

Billy George Counts, 86, of Van Buren passed away on Tuesday August 26, 2025 peacefully in his home. He was born on April 1, 1939 in Fort Smith to the late George and Faye (Pollock) Counts. He was a retired from the Fort Smith Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ginger Counts; two brothers, Shelby and James Counts; a sister, Madge Brown; two grandsons, Brandon Atwell and Justin Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Norma of the home; a son, Bill Counts and wife Mary of Van Buren; a daughter, Fawn Harris and husband, Robert of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Megan Myers, Morgan Grant, Logan Counts, Dakota Counts and Destiny Willhite; six great-grandchildren, Camden, Hoyt, Ashlynn, Josh, Paige and Ashley; two great great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Billy’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday August 28, 2025 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home, Van Buren.
