Ray Horton, Jr., 70, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born July 13, 1955 in Huntington Park, California. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleta (Smith) Simmons and stepfather, Lawrence J. Simmons. He retired from Trane after 27 years.
He is survived by his wife, Yselda Horton; two sons, Sean Horton and wife, Krystal and Ryan Horton and wife, Michelle; three brothers, Edwin Horton and wife, Jane, Curtis Horton and Michael Simmons; two sisters, Tammy Poore and husband, Chris and Rene Stephenson and husband, Jeremy; six grandchildren, Jacob Horton, Yabria Ford, Shiloh Horton, Madison Bare, Rayven Stuart and Aubrey Cowell; three great grandchildren, Ares Horton, Emersyn Cowell and Farrah Ford, 15 nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 1 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. The family will have a celebration of life on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at their home.
