Larry Charles Smith, 83, of Rudy, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025. A man of deep faith and unwavering devotion, Larry dedicated his life to sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ. His greatest joy came from serving Jesus, where he touched countless lives with his compassion, wisdom, and steadfast belief.

Larry lived a vibrant and varied life—he was an Arkansas Golden Gloves Boxer, a rodeo cowboy, known for his grit and spirit, and also an amateur boxing coach, mentoring young athletes with patience and encouragement.

He was born on October 13, 1941, in Massard, Arkansas, to the late Roy and Gertie (Thornton) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Smith; sisters, Patsy Taylor and Lila Faye Davis; and brothers, Kenneth Smith and Donald Smith.

Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deborah (Flanagan) Smith, of the home; and his children, Edward Smith, David Smith, Joy Smith, Brock Smith, and Glory Smith. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Connor Poynor, Kellan Poynor, Toby Smith, Hannah Smith, Felicity Smith, and Kennedy Houser, Austin Smith, Parker Smith; and his sister, Dana Sue Belue.

Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
