Jerry Don Beane Jr., affectionately known as “Jay” or “Jaybo,” passed away on July 18, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 39. He was born on January 3, 1986, and was the beloved son of Angela Beshears and Jerry Don Beane.
Jay was a creative soul who expressed himself through his artwork, often designing and crafting original pieces that reflected his vibrant personality. An exceptional athlete from a young age, Jay excelled in every sport he played—especially football. He also had a lifelong love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing, both in his youth and in recent years.
He is survived by his father, Jerry Beane and spouse Megan of Van Buren, Arkansas; his mother, Angela Beshears; his spouse, Brittani (Shand) Beane; and his two cherished children, Brooklynn and Jaydin. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Barbara Burcham and Donna Key; his siblings, Jamie Beane, Jaxon Beane, Dalton, Nikki, A.Z., and Justice; extended family including Roger Key; and a large community of extended family and dear friends who were countless in number and deeply important to him.
Jay was preceded in death by Clayton Elder and his grandfather, James Beane.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Highway in Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72904.
Jay will be remembered for his passion, his talent, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His spirit will live on through his children, his art, and the memories he leaves behind.
