Dorothy Louise (Peeler) Payton, age 84, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025.

Louise was born on March 6, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Dorothy Marie (Dutton) and Charles Peeler. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, strength, and dedication to her family. She retired from Rheem and later worked for Walmart, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and cheerful spirit.

Louise loved music and found great joy in line dancing. She especially enjoyed the music of Elvis and the Bee Gees, and these favorites often brought a smile to her face and a rhythm to her step. Her vibrant personality and love for life were evident to all who knew her.

Above all else, Louise was a devoted family woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who always made time for her family and friends.

She is survived by her seven children: Cindy Blasingame, Brenda Chapen (Allen), Ronald Wilcox Jr., David Wilcox (Kim), Gary Wilcox, Paula Kirkpatrick, and Paul Wilcox (Lisa); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings Alice Vinson and JoAnn Mayfield.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
