The 2026 election cycle has already begun. For weeks, candidates for political office in Arkansas have been declaring their bids for seats at the federal, state and local levels.

All seven statewide constitutional officer seats will be on the ballot in 2026, including the race for governor and the U.S. Senate. All four Congressional races will be on the ballot and could see primary or general election challenges.

In the Arkansas legislature, there are 17 seats in the State Senate up for grabs, while all 100 House seats could be contested.

Term limits is kicking in. Five of the 17 Senate seats have incumbents who are term-limited, while there are at least another eight in the Arkansas House of Representatives who have maxed out on their legislative terms.
