Darrell Eugene Gordey, Sr. 77 passed from this world on Friday, June 13, 2025.

Darrell was born on September 7, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Hershel Howard Gordey, Sr and Delpha Nadine (Wharton) Gordey. He was the youngest of four children with brothers Howard, Robie and Wilburn Gordey. He lived his life in Missouri and Arkansas. He always worked hard to provide for his family. During his working life he worked as a cook, janitor, handyman and house painter.

He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Jean (Haney) Gordey to which he was married for 51 years until her passing in 2020. They had three children, one of which died shortly after birth.

He is survived by children Angela (Gordey) Conn and husband Danny Conn, Jr., and Darrell Gordey Jr. and Wife Carol (Davis) Gordey; grandchildren Brittany Bishop (Michael), Danny Conn III (Kema), Darrell “Tre” Gordy III, Brady Conn; great-grandchildren Caiden Storm, Easton Rayne, Brailey Grace, Brittany Michelle, Ares Jaxon, Thea Mae. He is also survived by brother-in-law John Haney (Connie) many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. No formal service will be held at this time.
