Robert Eugene (Bob) Brisco, 98, of Lavaca, passed away on April 30, 2025. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lavaca.
Bob retired from Tanner, Brisco & Lambiotte Printing. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, was a member of the Lavaca Fire Department, and held the office of Mayor of Lavaca.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Wilma Foster Brisco; his parents, Vester and Mozel Dempsey Brisco; his brothers, Kenneth Brisco and Raymond Brisco; and his great-granddaughter, Caroline Scheffe.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie White and her husband Larry; his son, Larry Brisco and his wife Dian; four grandchildren: Christopher Lynn White and fiancée Heather Cates, Christy Leanna Smith and her husband Don, Stefanie Scheffe and her husband Charles, and Megan Mullin; nine great-grandchildren: Jessica Moore and her husband Dalton, Ty Cole, Avery Maxwell, Noah White and his wife Makenna, Andrew White, Aaron White, Levi White, Addisyn Scheffe, and Londyn Scheffe.
He is also survived by step-grandchildren: Taylor Smith, Emily Melby and her husband Charles, Jake Smith and fiancée McKenna Lee, Hadlei Cates, Tessa Cates, and Kody Cates; three great-great-grandchildren: David Moore, Everett Moore, and Eliza Rae Melby; his sister, Lucille Nayfa; his brother, David Brisco and wife Charlotte; and sisters-in-law Sally Brisco, Shirley Brisco, and Shirley McCurry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lavaca, 100 West Main St, Lavaca, AR 72941, or to The Church at Estrella, 17777 W. Westar Drive, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 255 AR-96 in Lavaca, Arkansas 72941. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Lavaca. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Bean’s Sunday School Class.
