Class of 2025 Andrew Dunlap Tax Manager HoganTaylor LLP, Fayetteville

A hot, sweaty job detailing vehicles at the local Ford dealership one summer during high school helped Andrew Dunlap learn responsibility. It reinforced what his Catholic family emphasized: “Use your gifts well and responsibly.”

A native of Oppelo, near Morrilton, Dunlap credits his small Catholic high school with holding him to high standards and laying the foundation for his success. With only 17 in his graduating class, there weren’t many electives, so he took accounting and enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of it. Then an accounting course at University of Central Arkansas cemented the deal.

“It was mentally stimulating, and I knew I wouldn’t be bored because every new client, every new return was a new opportunity, a new problem to solve.”

Dunlap graduated from UCA in 2018 with a business degree and completed his Master of Accountancy in 2019. While at UCA, he interned with HoganTaylor’s tax staff in Little Rock and planned to go full time in 2020. When his wife got a job in Bentonville, HoganTaylor allowed him to work for the Little Rock office from Fayetteville. He later transferred to the Fayetteville staff. Dunlap was promoted to tax senior staff in 2022 and tax manager in 2023.

In five years he’s passed the CPA exam, been promoted to manager and was selected for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fayetteville. In five years, he hopes to make partner.

Dunlap and his team conduct research to advise clients on the most efficient way to negotiate transactions and achieve the best tax position.

“Most of what we do is to provide value to help our clients, and that keeps me showing up and wanting to do a good job for our team and our clients.” As acting career adviser for HoganTaylor’s tax interns and a member of HoganTaylor’s business resource group, Dunlap enjoys being a resource for others across the company. He “puts a lot of time and energy into seeing our staff grow and develop into more confident CPAs.” His own career adviser, Taylor Townsend, has mentored him, showing him how to handle the job’s stress.

On the Ozark Literacy Council’s executive board for three years, Dunlap also participates in United Way’s day of service. He is a Razorback fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and watching Netflix.
