The Mercy clinic in Roland

Mercy Fort Smith on Tuesday (April 8) opened its first clinic in Roland, Okla., just across the border from Fort Smith. The facility at 106 W. Ray Fine Blvd., will have seven total staff, including a physician and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).

According to Mercy, total investment in the clinic is about $2.3 million. APRN Caitlin Waters will provide care, and Dr. Caitlyn Bowman is expected to work at the clinic later in 2025.

Types of care at the clinic will include preventive care and screenings, vaccinations and immunizations, care for common illnesses and minor injuries, support for chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, specialist referrals, same-date acute care access, and diagnostics and lab services for Mercy patients.

“Mercy has a long-standing tradition of caring for communities, dating back to our founding by the Sisters of Mercy,” said Dr. Lance Faddis, Mercy’s regional physician executive for primary care. “Their mission was to provide compassionate care to those in need, and today, we continue to uphold that legacy.”

Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the clinic can be reached at 918-571-4322.

Mercy now has 27 primary care clinics with the Roland opening. Mercy also has a senior-focused 65 Prime+ clinic located in part of the first floor of Mercy-Tower West at 6801 Rogers Ave., in Fort Smith. When it opened in October 2024, it was the first clinic of its kind. A second 65 Prime+ clinic is being planned in Sallisaw and should open by the end of the year, according to Mercy.

In July and August 2024, Mercy officially expanded health care access in Alma and Greenwood with a more than $7.8 million combined investment.

St. Louis-based Mercy Mercy is a multi-state health care system including 50 acute care and specialty hospitals, convenient and urgent care locations, imaging centers and pharmacies. Mercy has more than 1,000 physician practice locations and outpatient facilities, more than 5,000 physicians and advanced practitioners and more than 50,000 employees in Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
