Harding University broke ground on a $8.5 million, 18,000-square-foot library addition for its School of Theology, set to be completed by March 2026.

An extension of the Brackett Library, this new facility will provide students with access to one of the most extensive theology collections in the South, according to the school.

“We are excited about the great potential represented by this new facility,” said Dr. Peter Rice, dean of Harding School of Theology. “We are training a new generation of ministers, missionaries, teachers and scholars, and the generosity of our community will help us continue HST’s profound global impact into the future.”

During the fall semester, 71 new graduate students enrolled in program, a 65% increase from the previous year. Harding School of Theology also had a 21% increase in credit hours earned.

“The library will house our University’s extensive theology collection, empowering students to immerse themselves in scholarly work and fellowship,” said Harding President Dr. Mike Williams. “We are fully committed to making theological education accessible to more people across the globe in a humble yet steadfast effort to expand the kingdom of God.”
