Gertrude Rose Huck, who resided near Branch, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Charleston, Arkansas. She was born on October 14, 1930, in Morrison Bluff near Scranton, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Kleck and Ida (Werner) Kleck. She was 94 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Leonard Huck; a daughter, Alice Ann Huck; five sisters, Hilda Kleck, Agnes Lensing, Mary Erman Walbe, Agatha Lensing, and Loretta Crawley; and a brother, Lawrence Kleck.

Gertie was a full-time homemaker and raised a big family. She was a member of the Mother’s Society and faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Ratcliff. In 2000, Gertie and Leonard were named Arkansas State Parents of the Year by the National Parents Day Council. Gertie loved her family very much and she was loved by her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Kenny Stengel officiating. The family will visit with friends following the rosary service.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 17th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Norman McFall and Deacon Kenny Stengel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery near Ratcliff, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by five daughters, Cecilia Luther and husband Greg of Little Rock, Martha Bearden and husband Alan of Springdale, Idella Hiatt of Charleston, Janice Willems and husband Harry of Little Rock, and Mary Keeton and husband Neal of Branch; three sons, Rick Huck and wife Paula of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alvin Huck and wife Evelyn of Tontitown, and Randy Huck and wife Laura of Tontitown; a sister, Jo Ann Lehnen of Van Buren; a brother, Charles Kleck and wife Irene of Fort Smith; (22) grandchildren; (28) great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Pallbearers are Marcus Huck, Joshua Luther, Nathan Bearden, April Newhart, Nicholas Huck, Blake Willems, Mitchell Huck, and Ryan Keeton.

Honorary pallbearers are the remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
