Arlin Edward Johnson, 74, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at Chapel Ridge Nursing Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on November 13, 1950, in Fort Smith, he was the beloved son of Walter Edward Johnson and Mary Ivi (Turner) Johnson.

In September 1967, Arlin married the love of his life, Marie Johnson, at Akins Church in Akins, Oklahoma. He dedicated over 35 years to his career as an electrician with Trotter Electric, where his expertise and mentorship left a lasting impact on his coworkers, many of whom credit their success to his guidance.

Outside of work, Arlin found joy in hunting, fishing, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He cherished family gatherings, birthdays, and holidays, treasuring every moment with his loved ones. In his quiet time, he could often be found enjoying his favorite black-and-white Westerns. Arlin will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend to many.

He is survived by his three children: E.W. Johnson and wife Kim; Mary Jean Carr and husband David; and Debbie Soap and husband Roy. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Breanna Dial and husband Tyler; Heather Deere; Chris Johnson; Jacob Johnson; Brittany Johnson; Colin Walker; Destiny Barker and husband Tristan; Kara Johnson; Royce Soap and wife Morgan; and Chasity Ely and husband Garrett; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryder Dial; Fletcher Dial; Jayce Johnson; Ava Johnson; Kash Barker; Juniper Walker; Willow Ely; Avery Johnson; and Harper Johnson. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Johnson of Macon, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Danny Hoover and wife Theresa, Tommy Hoover and wife Nonnie, and Gary Hoover; sister-in-law, Janie Hoover; as well as numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Arlin is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Johnson; his beloved wife of 36 years, Marie Johnson; and his brothers, Roy Johnson, Henry Johnson, and J.W. Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR 72904. Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pastor Vance Mooney is to officiate. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
