Energy association appoints Ebony Mitchell to external affairs role

The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association (AAEA) and the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation (AAEF) recently hired Ebony Mitchell as director of external affairs. This marks the association’s first director of external affairs since its founding in 2012.

Mitchell, who was named Miss Arkansas 2022, is responsible for stakeholder engagement, advocacy, membership growth and external partnerships in her new role.

A Harrison native, Mitchell has experience in external affairs and marketing. She most recently worked as the director of external affairs for the Arkansas Foodbank. She previously was a marketing specialist with Conway Regional Health System.

“I am thrilled to join the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association and Foundation as the director of external affairs,” Mitchell said. “This new role represents an incredible opportunity to help advance energy solutions that will shape the future of Arkansas. I look forward to building strong relationships, fostering innovation and championing the vital work of this organization.”

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas and a master’s in business administration from John Brown University. Gov. Sarah Sanders appointed her to the Arkansas 250 Commission. Mitchell is a member of the Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XL.
