The Little Rock & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) named Ryan Callison as its vice president of marketing and communications. A career destination marketer who previously worked at travel-focused agencies in Arizona, Texas and Arkansas, Callison aims to bring his 17-plus years of experience to support the LRCVB as it continues working towards its destination marketing efforts, including its master plan initiatives to grow the city’s business and leisure tourism.

“It’s an honor to join the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau and work with a city that has so much to offer,” said Callison. “Helping people find joy and unique experiences through traveling is a lifelong passion for me. I look forward to helping share Little Rock’s vibrant culture and community by connecting Arkansans and visitors from around the country with this thriving capital city.”

Since graduating with a degree in organizational communication from Lubbock Christian University in 2007, Callison has worked almost exclusively in travel and destination marketing. Prior to his current position with LRCVB, he served as vice president of destination development for Little Rock-based Waymack and Crew, vice president of destination strategy for Madden Media in Tucson, Arizona and director of marketing and communications for Visit Frisco, the direct marketing organization for Frisco, Texas.

During his time in Texas, Callison also served on several state tourism promotion boards, and was recognized by the Texas Travel Alliance in 2017 as a Rising Star in Texas tourism.

“Throughout his career, Ryan has been a standout in the field of destination and travel marketing,” said LRCVB President and CEO Gina Gemberling. “Both the city and the LRCVB are lucky to have him. With the help of his expertise and skill set, we’ll continue to build Little Rock’s status as a top-tier travel destination.”
