Baptist Health announces leadership promotions

Little Rock-based Baptist Health announced two promotions to its systemwide leadership.

Joni Stephenson has been promoted to corporate vice president of human resources for Baptist Health. She has been in human resources roles since 2003, including 16 years at Baptist Health, where she began in central staffing nurse recruitment in 2005.

In her most recent role, Stephenson was corporate director of human resources, overseeing talent acquisition, compensation, ADA/FMLA/unemployment, as well as employee branding. She will assume responsibility of the entire Human Resources Department as she continues to report to Baptist Health Chief Human Resources Officer Cathy Dickinson.

Stephenson received her bachelor’s degree in human resources from Arkansas State University and her master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University.

HyeJin Son has been appointed to the role of corporate vice president for oncology services.

In this role, Son will steer cancer services for all of Baptist Health. She will actively lead the development of a comprehensive system-wide strategic plan for oncology services and procedures, and engage teams in establishing approaches for oncology. Also, Son will oversee financial performance, resource planning, clinical efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Son began her career with Baptist Health in 2011 as a pharmacy intern at Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock. She has most recently served as the director of pharmacy for Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock since 2019. In the interim, Son will continue her pharmacy responsibilities.

Son obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Central Arkansas, and doctorate of pharmacy from Harding University. In addition, Son completed PGY-1 pharmacy residency in Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
