American Fuel Cell and Coated Fabrics in Magnolia was formally presented a national award on Friday (July 26) by U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman, R-Hot Springs.

The U.S. Department of Commerce awarded Amfuel with an “E” award, the highest recognition a U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

Amfuel is the first Arkansas company in five years to receive this award and one of only 64 nationwide.

This is the second export-related award for the company within the last year. Amfuel also received the 2023 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade. Specifically, the company received the Innovation and Impact in Manufacturing Export Award as its products can be found in markets such as Italy, Taiwan, Spain, Canada, and South Korea.

“Amfuel is a testament to the power of Arkansas companies finding new markets throughout the world,” said Jonathan Bricker, Arkansas District Export Council Chairman. “We are proud to have an Arkansas company receive this prestigious award. With momentum in a wide variety of markets and a bold approach to expansion, Amfuel is certainly deserving of this significant honor.”

Amfuel is a market leading manufacturer and fabricator of self-sealing, crash-resistant aviation fuel cells and liquid logistic tank solutions for both military and civil, rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. The company’s fuel bladders are designed to self-seal if shot so a warfighter can return safely to base.

“Congratulations to Amfuel on earning the President’s “E” Award,” said Arkansas Secretary of Commerce Hugh McDonald. “This award highlights the exceptional innovation and global reach of Arkansas businesses. Amfuel’s achievements underscore the strength and competitiveness of our state’s manufacturing sector, and we celebrate their remarkable contributions to international trade.”
