Boys Shelter expansion one of top Sebastian County property deals in April

Commercial space, residential property and an expansion for the Fort Smith Boys Shelter were the top property transactions in Sebastian County during April, according to the office of Sebastian County Assessor Zach Johnson.

The largest deal was $1.55 million, with 1320 Towson LLC acquiring land at 5800 Remington Circle in Fort Smith from Timothy and Gina Bowen. The deal closed April 12.

The second largest deal was valued at $1.25 million with Robert and Melissa Rye selling Fort Smith residential property to Scott and Lindsey O’Hern. That deal closed April 15.

Another deal, valued at $1.05 million, saw the Boys Shelter Inc. buy the former Trinity Management offices at 6515 S. Zero St., from 6515 S. Zero Development Inc. That deal closed April 12. The Boys Shelter plans to use the facility to provide new living and activity space for those in the Shelter’s programs.

The top 10 Sebastian County property deals in April had a combined deal value of $8.3 million. The top 10 deals for the first four months of 2024 total $43.352 million. The top 10 deals for each month in 2023 totaled $103.704 million.

The largest deal in 2023 was the $5.7 million sale of Southbrooke apartments on 8201 U.S. 271 S., in Fort Smith. The complex was sold by Dallas-based FS Southbrooke to Fort Smith-based Southbrooke Fort Smith. The new owners plans to renovate the 129-unit apartment complex. A $20.387 million sale of the new Veterans Affairs Clinic in Fort Smith and associated property was the largest Sebastian County property deal in 2022.
