PB2 Architecture and Engineering is leasing 24,365 square feet in a new office building at The District at Pinnacle Hills at 4886 W. Pauline Whitaker Parkway in Rogers.

One of the region’s largest architectural and engineering firms has a new address. PB2 Architecture and Engineering, a full-service firm with a national practice, recently relocated in Rogers from Ajax Avenue across Interstate 49 to West Pauline Whitaker Parkway.

The company signed a lease for approximately 24,365 square feet in a new office building in The District at Pinnacle Hills development. Little Rock-based Whisinvest Realty is the developer and owner.

Doug Hurley, the company president and owner, said PB2 needed more contiguous space for its total staff of 172 employees.

“We had outgrown the initial space at Ajax that we moved into in 2013 and had relocated a portion of the staff into an adjacent building for the past five years,” he said. “It was time for a change where the entire staff could be together.”

PB2 started in 1963 as Perry L. Butcher and Associates and rebranded in 2005. PB2 designs retail, commercial, health and wellness and multi-use facilities nationally and has been doing projects for Walmart Inc. since 1969. Other long-standing clients include Academy Sports + Outdoors, Hobby Lobby, Sam’s Club and HEB Grocery.

Hurley, who has been with the firm for 35 years, was made a partner in 2001 and assumed sole ownership on Jan. 1, 2011. He said PB2 has 27 architects, seven engineers and two interior designers. The firm employs more than 40 interns and several University of Arkansas graduates will join this summer.

Hurley said the company will host an open house and ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. May 30.
