OzarksGo, a fiber-optic telecommunication subsidiary of Fayetteville-based Ozarks Electric Cooperative, recently connected its 40,000th customer to its high-speed fiber optic network.

According to a news release, Gabriel Mallard and his family received an iPad and AirPods to use with their new internet service.

Over the past year, OzarksGo has upgraded its network to allow for speeds up to 10 gigabits per second. The upgrade, which includes XGS-PON technology, is also expected to enhance network efficiency and improve reliability.

“The challenges of constructing a cutting-edge fiber network from the ground up, always emphasizing the significance of reliable high-speed internet access in the modern area, is always at the forefront,” said Steven Bandy, general manager of OzarksGo. “OzarksGo’s customers have access to internet speeds that are better than many urban areas across our country. We are honored to continue serving and connecting our communities with reliable internet services.”

OzarksGo provides residential internet speeds up to 2,500 megabits per second, along with TV and telephone service to all members in the Ozarks Electric footprint, spanning Northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma. OzarksGo has been providing its fiber optic network to residential and commercial customers outside the Ozarks Electric footprint.

OzarksGo has 74 employees.
