Rogers-based engineering and design firm Crafton Tull announced Monday (April 29) that it has expanded its landscape architecture team by acquiring Huntsville-based Prism Design Studio.

According to a news release, Jenny Burbidge, who founded Prism Design Studio as an independent company in 2022, will join Crafton Tull as vice president. Burbidge will lead the new group, which will combine the landscape design staff of the two firms and operate as an extension of Crafton Tull. The landscape architecture division will operate under the name Prism Design Studio.

“Prism Design Studio was created out of passion and vision for designing community spaces with landscape architects at the forefront of project planning and development,” Burbidge said. “The Crafton Tull leadership team shares that vision, and with this expansion, we have an opportunity to provide a full spectrum of development services, including landscape architecture as a leading design discipline.”

“Prism Design Studio will benefit our existing clients while opening the door to new opportunities for our firm,” Crafton Tull President and CEO Matt Crafton said. “We believe in Jenny’s talent and leadership, and we are excited to see her impact on this part of our business.”

Burbidge, a Northwest Arkansas Business Journal Forty Under 40 honoree in 2023, is a licensed landscape architect and an Arkansas native. Her more than 14 years of experience include multifamily housing, mixed-use projects, urban design and park design.

She is president of the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust’s board of directors and a past president of the Arkansas chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

The Prism Design Studio expansion consists of eight people, including licensed landscape architects Barry Williams and Fallon Henry. The group will offer specialized expertise in site master planning, parks and recreation development, outdoor recreation facilities, and urban design, including hardscape and streetscape design.

As part of the expansion, Prism Design Studio employees will become Crafton Tull employee-owners through the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Crafton Tull became a 100% employee-owned company in 2019.

Crafton Tull has more than 300 employees with offices throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma.
