Few contested races in Crawford, Sebastian County Quorum Court posts

Though several justices of the peace in Crawford and Sebastian counties will face an opponent this election cycle, only three in Crawford County will face an opponent in the March 5 preferential primary.

The Crawford County JP Districts Four, Five and 13 have choices to be made in the primary. Justice Jeff Beauchamp, the incumbent for District Four, did not file for re-election to the position and is not on the ballot. Quincy Cook and Lloyd Cole are vying for the Republican nomination for the position. There is no Democrat candidate for the position.

In the Justice of the Peace District Five position, Justice Brad Martin, the incumbent, faces Republican challengers John Hendrick  and Jonathon “Jon” Baker, who is constable for Crawford County District Five. The winner of the Republican primary will face Democrat challenger Aneisha LeMonier.

In the Justice of the Peace District 13 race, Brandon “Buddy” Herring, Republican, will face Steven Johnson, Republican in the March 5 primary election. Incumbent Roger Atwell is not on the ballot.

The remaining 10 Crawford County Quorum Court positions do not have an opponent in the primary, though some will face an opponent in the general election Nov. 5. Justice of the Peace District 1 Republican incumbent Robert Arnold will face Democrat challenger Bill Prater. Incumbent Republican Lonnie Myers will face Democrat challenger Casey Craft.

Justice of the Peace District 3 incumbent Republican Morgan Morgan is unchallenged. Justice of the Peace District 6 Republican incumbent Mark Shaffer will face Democrat challenger Donna Key. Republican candidate Kyle Stinchcomb is the only candidate running for the Justice of the Peace District 7 position. Incumbent Lonnie Jennings is not on the ballot.

Justice of the Peace District 8 Republican incumbent Tia Woodruff faces Democrat challenger Betty Montes. Justice of the Peace District 9 Republican incumbent Jason Cox faces Democrat challenger Monica Macomber. Justice of the Peace District 10 Republican incumbent Jayson Peppas faces Democrat challenger Pat Sears.

In the Justice of the Peace District 11 race, Kevin Bell, Republican, will face Shawn Blasingame, Democrat. Incumbent Greg Wahlmeier is not on the ballot. In the Justice of the Peace District 12 race, Donna Staton, Republican, will face Eli Clardy, Democrat, in the general election. Incumbent Mitch Carolan is not on the ballot.

In Sebastian County, only one race will be contested in the November General Election. Incumbent Republican Kenneth Williamson will face Democrat challenger David Crowell in the District 7 race. The other 12 incumbents on the Sebastian County Quorum Court are running unopposed in the election.
