Premium Brands of Northwest Arkansas, an alcohol and beverage distributor in Fayetteville, will build a new headquarters in Springdale.

In a news release Monday (Dec. 11), the company said it will start construction in 2024 on a 130,000-square-foot building on 20 acres north of Kendrick Avenue in the northeast part of the city.

According to county records, Premium Brands closed a deal in November to buy the land from the Springdale Public Facilities Board for $1.52 million.

“We are very excited to move our operations to Springdale.  As a distribution company, we knew the location would fit perfectly for our current and future operations,” said Casey Moore, the company’s vice president and chief financial officer. “The Springdale Chamber and Public Facilities Board have been wonderful during our process, and we look forward to continued growth with Northwest Arkansas and the city of Springdale.”

Premium Brands, privately owned by the Haney family, employs approximately 100 people. The company reports the project will provide it with space to accommodate an expected 10% employment growth within the first three years of operation.

“We welcome Premium Brands of Northwest Arkansas with open arms,” said Springdale Chamber president and CEO Bill Rogers. “On behalf of the Springdale Public Facilities Board, the chamber has worked together with Premium Brands to identify the ideal location for their current and future needs. Adding good-paying jobs to Springdale’s economy is why we go to work each day. Premium Brands is a great addition to the rapidly growing industrial district in northeast Springdale.”

The Public Facilities Board, which recently sold adjacent acreage to Central States Manufacturing for an advanced pre-engineered steel frame facility, has also partnered with the city and the U.S. Economic Development Administration to widen Kendrick Avenue starting in 2024 that will provide direct access for Premium Brands to Arkansas Highway 265.

“This relocation announcement by Premium Brands is a great way to wrap up 2023,” Mayor Doug Sprouse said. “It’s no surprise that company officials saw the benefit of Springdale’s central location and the great access we offer to all of Northwest Arkansas. With 100 new jobs and the potential for even more in the short term, Premium Brands is a welcome addition to our booming economy.”
