Zweig, Howerton launch business podcast
Two entrepreneurs and small business owners have teamed up to launch a new podcast, “Big Talk About Small Business.”
Mark Zweig and Eric Howerton are the hosts and co-founders. Zweig’s business insight is backed by nearly 50 years of professional experience as a successful entrepreneur, developer, author and small business owner.
Zweig and Howerton worked together previously at Fayetteville-based Zweig Group, a media, publishing and consulting company for the architecture and engineering industries. Zweig started the company as Mark Zweig & Associates in Boston in 1988. It later became ZweigWhite in 1994, and then Zweig Group in 2014.
Zweig, who teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business, said the podcast doesn’t promote or sell anything.
“We are simply trying to help those who own or manage small businesses — or those who aspire to — to be more successful,” he said. “That’s it.”
Howerton is the co-founder and chief growth officer of WhyteSpyder. The company began in 2010 mainly as a content creator for suppliers selling on Walmart.com but quickly transformed into a technology company. It was acquired in 2021 by London-based information and analytics firm Ascential for an undisclosed sum.
Leading up to WhyteSpyder, Howerton was COO of Zweig Group. He also was president of Now Creative Inc. and the publisher of Get Out magazine.
“Big Talk About Small Business” debuted this summer and is a weekly podcast. The co-founders recently dropped their 15th episode. The subscriber base is approaching 500 LinkedIn followers and 2,000 YouTube views.
