Class of 2023 Forty Under 40 Megan Murdock Principal; Executive Portfolio Manager Colliers Arkansas, Rogers

Megan Murdock relocated to Northwest Arkansas from her native North Carolina a decade ago. One year later, she joined the state’s largest commercial real estate firm and has maintained an upward trajectory ever since.

Murdock graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a business administration and management degree in 2011.

Her experience working in North Carolina’s multifamily industry led to a job as a property manager with Colliers Arkansas in September 2014. Five years later, the company promoted her to executive portfolio manager. She has six direct reports who work together to manage the Northwest Arkansas commercial portfolio of over 1.8 million square feet, including a mix of industrial, medical office, retail and office space.

Also, in 2019, Murdock became a Colliers Arkansas shareholder. Earlier this year, the Little Rock-based firm appointed her as principal. Murdock is the only woman among three principals in the Rogers office.

Murdock has over 15 years of experience in property management, including multifamily and commercial. She said finding strong mentors and supporters in the workplace is essential to her success. She credited Steve Lane, a principal in the Colliers Arkansas office in Rogers, as an example of empowering her to contribute to meaningful decision-making in the business.

“Steve has been my biggest supporter and champion,” she said.

Murdock said her future aspirations are to help Colliers Arkansas navigate the challenge of keeping pace with the region’s growth. Some forecasters expect the region to double in population to 1 million in the next 25 years.

She is a member of the region’s Urban Land Institute (ULI) chapter.
