The nonprofit Downtown Bentonville Inc. (DBI) announced Tuesday (June 20) a continued partnership with Walmart Inc. through an annual grant.

“Thanks to the generosity of the world’s largest retailer, Downtown Bentonville Inc. will continue its mission to provide downtown experiences for everyone,” DBI said in a news release.

DBI did not disclose the grant amount. The funding supports various downtown events, including First Friday, Art Market, Art & Culinary Week, the City of Bentonville’s Lighting of the Square and the Bentonville Christmas Parade.

New for 2023, the grant also supports the Bentonville Farmers Market, Market @ Record and the Bentonville Christmas Parade TV Show.

DBI Executive Director Dana Schlagenhaft expressed deep appreciation to Walmart for its investment.

“We are tremendously grateful for Walmart’s belief in our mission and the commitment to cultivating an environment where creativity, diversity, and collaboration flourish,” she said. “This grant will empower our organization to continue creating moments of joy, inspiration, and shared experiences for years to come.”

The 2023 event season in Downtown Bentonville is underway, with First Friday events and the Bentonville Farmers Market each Saturday.
