The Arkansas Rice Farmers and Arkansas Rice Council will hold their annual meeting on January 26 in Stuttgart at the newly renovated Grand Prairie Center.

USA Rice CEO Betsy Ward will deliver an industry update followed by four panel discussions. The meeting will conclude with a catered lunch provided by Yoder Ruritan.

This year’s event will begin with a discussion of the upcoming farm bill. A rice state check-off panel will follow the farm bill discussion. After that, a panel featuring several agriculture innovation opportunities will take place before concluding with a panel focused on USDA Climate Smart grant awardees.

Comments will also be made by the U.S. Senate Ag Committee staff, USA Rice staff, Dr. Deacue Fields, Dr. Tim Burcham, as well as representatives from Riceland Foods and Whitaker Farms.

This year’s meeting will also offer continuing education units (CEU) for Certified Crop Advisors and Arkansas Licensed Consultants.

“The rice industry is looking forward to gathering in Stuttgart this year. 2023 is an exciting year for our industry,” said Kelly Robbins, Arkansas Rice Executive Director. “This meeting will provide important information to keep our stakeholders up to date on industry issues so that our producers can continue to grow a safe and quality food supply.”
